In less than 24 hours, Baylor student-athletes claimed a national championship and two more Big 12 trophies — adding to an already record-setting year.

It started Saturday, as Coach Mulkey’s Baylor squad beat Oregon for the national title. No, not women’s basketball; acrobatics and tumbling, led by head coach Felecia Mulkey. In her first season at the helm of the Baylor program, Mulkey led the Bears to an undefeated season and the program’s first national championship. Sophomore Kiara Nowlin was named NCATA’s national player of the year, and teammate Shayla Moore was named the national Freshman of the Year. Sunday afternoon, Baylor women’s golf concluded its weekend of domination, winning the 2015 Big 12 Championship by 12 strokes and compiling the second-lowest score in the event’s history. The title was the first for head coach Jay Goble’s program. Junior Laura Lonardi nearly won the Big 12 individual title, tying for the best score through 54 holes but finishing second after a sudden death playoff.

Women’s tennis capped off the weekend by claiming the Big 12 Championship title for the second straight year and eighth time in program history. Head coach Joey Scrivano’s squad swept the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles for the 8th time in the last 10 years. Freshman Kelley Anderson was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. [Watch highlights from the team’s win.]

Sunday’s pair of Big 12 titles were Baylor’s 7th and 8th league championships this season, setting a new school record for most conference titles in a season. The Bears’ 65 Big 12 trophies rank fourth in the league’s history, behind only Texas, Nebraska and Oklahoma. And since 2003, when Ian McCaw was named director of athletics, only Texas has won more Big 12 titles than Baylor.

    Sic ’em, Baylor student-athletes!
