• Yet another Baylor Bear on NBC’s ‘The Voice’

    Clinton Washington on "The Voice"

In February, the Baylor family got to cheer on senior Savion Wright on American Idol. In March, Bears rooted for Baylor graduate Clinton Washington, BBA ’11, on NBC’s The Voice.

Washington, a former Student Foundation member from Arkansas who now works in marketing in New York City, debuted on The Voice March 2. His rendition of Elton John’s “Candle in the Wind” landed him a spot on Christina Aguilera’s team. Two weeks later, he lost a head-to-head matchup performing Rihanna’s “Stay,” but remained in the competition when he was picked up by Adam Levine.

He appeared again last night, performing “Wanted” by Hunter Hayes, but was sent home when he lost the knockout round. All told, he finished in this season’s top 30. “Although disappointed, I’m so grateful for the opportunity!” he wrote on Instagram after the loss. “I have incredible fans and friends, and you all mean a lot to me!”

    Sic ’em, Clint!

[Speaking of Savion… The Baylor senior made the final 24 on this season’s American Idol before getting cut in early March. If you’re keeping count at home, Savion and Clinton up the total number of Bears on Idol and The Voice to five. Who’s next?]
