• Baylor ranked the No. 2 most influential Texas university on social media

As if you needed another reason to stand and yell “Sic ’em!”… Baylor University is currently the second-most influential Texas college or university on social media, as measured by the popular Klout score.

Klout, as you may know, is a social media tool that attempts to measure social media influence by tracking what you post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and more, noting the number of followers you have and your interactions with them. Based on such numbers, it then gives you a numeric “Klout Score” that represents your influence online.

Baylor’s Klout score is currently 91 (out of 100). To give some context, President Barack Obama and Harvard University each are at a nearly perfect 99. Oprah, Jay-Z, and Lebron James are each at 91; Baylor alumna and The Office star Angela Kinsey has a score of 81.  TCU and Texas A&M are at 88 and 84, respectively.

So what does all that mean? For starters, it means there’s a big Baylor conversation taking place on social media. While much of it begins with the university’s platforms, it’s amplified by you — the alumni, students and other members of the Baylor family. Social media accounts are only as powerful as their followers, and Baylor is blessed to have such a loyal and active community.

If you’re not already following Baylor on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and YouTube, now seems like a good time to remind you to do so. You can find a detailed list of official Baylor social media accounts in this directory. Don’t miss out on all the Baylor fun!

    Sic ’em, #Baylor!
