• ‘Green, Gold, Baylor’ board book teaches colors (and BU) to future Bears

    Little Bear books

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

As a parent, there are few things more fun than sharing your Baylor pride with your little ones at an early age, and the newest release from Baylor Press makes that even easier.

Joining previous books such as B is for Baylor, 1 2 3 Baylor, and Star, Circle, Baylor comes Green, Gold, Baylor: A Little Bear Colors Book. The 18-page board book features illustrations from Baylor alum Matt Wiede, BFA ’02, that help teach future Bears their colors through Baylor traditions and places.

In such a context, “blue” becomes a scene of students having fun at the Marina and out on the Brazos’ waters. “Black” graduation robes recall graduation in the Ferrell Center. “Green” and “gold,” naturally, come from a sold-out Baylor basketball game. An addendum at the end explains the significance behind each location and tradition.

Each of these books is available directly from Baylor Press and from retailers such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Or, if you’re in Waco next weekend for #BaylorHomecoming, stop by the Baylor Bookstore, which will be open extended hours on Friday (8 a.m. to midnight) and Saturday (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.).

    Sic ’em, future Bears!
