Things you should know before Sunday’s #McLaneKickoff
We like to think of Baylor Proud as “the Baylor family’s refrigerator door.” Toward that end, here are some things you need to know before Sunday’s big game:
* Join us on social media for #McLaneKickoff. Baylor’s social media accounts will be out in full force to give fans who can’t make it to McLane Stadium a taste of the opening day experience, from tailgating through the final whistle. Double check to make sure you’re following Baylor on Facebook (both the university and athletics pages) , Twitter (@Baylor, @BaylorProud, @BaylorAthletics and @BUFootball), Instagram (@bayloruniversity, @baylorathletics and @bufootball) and even Snapchat (@BUFootball). And if you’re Tweeting or Instagramming, use the hashtag #McLaneKickoff.
* Can’t make it to the game? Join a #WatchBU party near you. Baylor fans are gathering at sites from Dallas, Houston and Austin to New York City, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. Join your fellow Bears at one of 20 parties across the country (see the full list here). Don’t see one in your city? Here’s how you can help get one started. (And don’t forget to Tweet and Instagram your watch party photos all season long using the #WatchBU hashtag.)
* If you’re coming to the game, plan ahead. Whether you’ve got a prepaid parking pass, plan to park for free downtown, or will explore the neighborhood options near the stadium, parking for McLane Stadium will definitely be a new experience for us all. Know where you’re going to park (and how you’ll get there, given the planned road and exit closures) before you leave your house. Click here for maps and a quick rundown of your parking options.
* Download the Baylor In-Game App. McLane Stadium will be the first collegiate venue to offer instant replays to all fans in the stadium via their mobile devices. Before you head to the stadium, make sure you’ve downloaded the app to take advantage of the free video, live stats and more.
Soak it up, Baylor Nation. Sunday is a once-in-a-generation, maybe once-in-a-lifetime event. Let’s enjoy this, and sic SMU!
Sic ’em, Bears!
