• Baylor Law among nation’s ‘Best Value’ private law schools

Last week, it was Baylor’s Hankamer School of Business that was recognized for its affordability; this week, it’s Baylor Law School.

A study by The National Jurist magazine found Baylor to be the one of the top two “best values” in the nation when it comes to private law schools, trailing only BYU and ahead of such recognizable names as Yale, Stanford and Notre Dame when it comes to value for the money.

According to the magazine, “The Best Value rankings look at tuition, debt, and cost of living and compare these numbers with percent employed and bar pass rates. The study is designed to identify and recognize law schools that help students pass the bar exam and land jobs without burdening them with huge debt.”

Baylor law students regularly lead the state in bar exam pass rate, having recorded the top score in Texas on the biannual exam 17 out of 24 offerings since 2001. Intentionally small classes — Baylor is one of the smallest law schools in the nation — allow students to receive more personal attention. Prominent Baylor law alumni include former University President Abner McCall (JD ’38, BA ’42), former Texas Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock (JD ’58), and Watergate special prosecutor Leon Jaworski (’25).

    Sic ’em, Baylor law!
