• Quintessential Baylor love story wins ABL’s Valentine’s Day contest

Couple at BaylorIt’s no secret that many Baylor students meet their spouses during their years on campus. One such story proved to be the winner in Baylor Libraries’ “How do you love thee?” love story contest earlier this month.

Contest entrants were asked to share their love story (Baylor or otherwise), with winners receiving nice prize packages leading up to Armstrong Browning Library’s annual Valentine’s Day Extravaganza.

I particularly liked the story submitted by first-place winners Steve (BBA ’01, JD ’04) and Kristy (BBA ’01) Brischke. Steve, now a lawyer in Temple, Texas, grew up hearing of how his grandparents had met at Baylor, then met his future wife in an Old Testament class and eventually got married in Miller Chapel, just a few feet from the classroom where he and Kristy met.

“Baylor was the place where our love started and where it continues to grow every day,” the couple wrote. “We bring our son back now on a regular basis. We can’t wait to show him where Mommy and Daddy met and fell in love — and we hope one day he can find all the same things here: love for God, love for the school, and the love of another.”

    Sic ’em, Baylor couples!
