• Baylor guys find creative ways to propose to their Baylor girls

    Baylor proposals

Baylor couples meet (and even get married) at Baylor all the time. (You might remember that we wrote a couple of years ago about popular wedding spots on campus.) But some Bears take it even a step further and incorporate their beloved BU into perhaps the most anxious event of their lives: the proposal. Here are a couple such stories we’ve heard recently.

Cameron Ongena, BBA ’09, met Kelly Binning, BBA ’10, during their time as students. Last month, Cameron purchased a brick in front of Burleson Quadrangle (in the Sesquicentennial Walkway) and had it engraved with the words, “Kelly, will you marry me?” and the year. On Sept. 2 — after the TCU win — Cameron led Kelly to the Walkway, covering the brick with his foot as he told her how much she meant to him. He pulled back his foot and used the brick to pop the question; she said yes and the couple will get married in October 2012!

Micah Floyd, a Baylor senior, took things a step further this summer. He and his girlfriend, senior Kirsten Rude, are each former Line Camp leaders for whom the original Baylor campus in Independence has been a special place, so in July, Micah proposed to her beneath the columns of old Baylor. She, too, said yes, and the wedding is planned for after the couple graduates in May 2012.

    Sic ’em, Baylor couples!
