• Baylor again named among nation’s ‘Great Colleges to Work For’

Chronicle 2011 Great Colleges to Work ForFor the second time in three years, Baylor has been named one of the nation’s top 10 large universities to work for, according to research by The Chronicle of Higher Education.

The Chronicle surveyed nearly 44,000 employees at 310 colleges and universities across the United States and named its top 10 overall institutions based on size (fewer than 3,000 students, 3,000-9,999 students, and 10,000+ students). Baylor joined such schools as Duke, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame and Southern Cal among the large, four-year institutions honored.

Each college and university was graded in 12 different areas, such as “collaborative governance,” “confidence in senior leadership,” “compensation and benefits,” “job satisfaction,” “teaching environment,” “facilities” and “work/life balance.” Baylor made the honor roll in 10 of those 12 categories.

Faculty and staff are often overlooked when discussing the Baylor family (compared to the more obvious students and alumni), so it’s great to know that our professors and other professionals are so happy to be part of the family, too!

    Sic ’em, Bears!
