• Baylor once again named among nation’s best private school values

Kiplinger's Dec. 2010For at least the third year in a row (as long as we’ve been writing Baylor Proud), Baylor has been named among the nation’s “best values” when it comes to private schools as determined by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine.

The latest data has Baylor ranked 62nd among the 600-plus institutions considered by Kiplinger’s. And once again, among the top 100 “best values,” Baylor is among the very most affordable when it comes to “total cost” — tuition, fees, room and board, and estimated expenses for books. In this year’s report, Baylor’s total cost is 16th-most affordable out of the top 100 (and first in the state of Texas).

We know Baylor’s not inexpensive; there are real costs to providing the educational environment Baylor seeks to provide. (Read more about what that means here.) But as a graduate, I can say it’s definitely worth it. I wouldn’t trade my Baylor education and experience for any other in the world; it makes me proud to see publications like Kiplinger’s and the Fiske Guide consistently recognizing the benefits of a Baylor education and naming BU a “best buy” and “best value.”

    Sic ’em, Bears!
