• Christmastime at Baylor: Ice skating, tree lighting and snow!

Judge Baylor statue in the snowYesterday was the last day of classes, so things are a little slow around campus as students prepare for final exams (which begin Thursday). Since Thanksgiving, however, things have been anything but slow around Baylor!

Winter festivities began on the first day back after Thanksgiving, as Student Activities and the Baylor Interfraternity Council presented “Baylor on Ice.” For one afternoon, Barfield Drawing Room in the SUB was turned into an ice skating rink! (See pictures from this and other winter happenings in this photo gallery.)

Amidst the cold Thursday night, Baylor celebrated Christmas on 5th Street with free concerts, a live nativity, carriage rides, and of course the KOT Christmas Tree Lighting. The next day, hundreds of local children gathered in the McLane Student Life Center gym for the annual Santa’s Workshop. To top it all off, we got a nice surprise midday Friday when it began snowing right here in Waco!

Sic ’em, Christmas lovers and especially Christmas snow!
