Vote Michael Johnson for U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame!
Former Baylor student-athlete Michael Johnson — widely considered the greatest long sprinter in the history of track and field — was announced last week as a nominee for the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame, and you can help him earn the honor.
Johnson is one of 15 HOF nominees, alongside Olympic legends like skier Picabo Street and the 1992 U.S. men’s basketball team. Click here to view the ballot and vote for Michael!
The Hall of Fame nomination comes shortly after Johnson was named the Drake Relays’ Men’s Athlete of the Century during the relays’ 100th anniversary celebrations last month. The Drake Relays are one of the biggest and oldest track and field meets in the country. At the 2009 running, head coach Todd Harbour’s Bears won five titles, including the program’s fifth-straight Drake Relays title in the men’s 4×400-meter relay; Baylor has now won 18 of the last 21 titles at the event.
Sic ’em, Michael Johnson and Baylor track and field!
