• ESPN highlights NBA star finishing degree at Baylor

David WesleyWe wrote last fall about former NBA star David Wesley’s return to Baylor as a student manager for the men’s basketball team. Wesley, a 14-year NBA veteran, is back on campus to finish his degree, fulfilling a promise he made to his mother.

ESPN picked up on the story and ran an excellent “Where Are They Now?” feature on Wesley during Sunday’s SportsCenter, filming Wesley throughout a day around campus — in class, at practice and at a game. Very nice publicity for the program and for Baylor University!

Wesley and the Baylor men begin play in the Big 12 Tournament as the No. 9 seed today at 11:30 a.m., facing Nebraska in a game televised along the Big 12 Network. The Lady Bears, as the No. 2 seed, get a first-round bye before facing either Texas Tech or Oklahoma State Friday at 5 p.m. on FSN.

    Sic ’em, Baylor Basketball!
