Senior class gift to fund scholarship and eternal flame for Immortal Ten Memorial

Tomorrow is commencement for fall semester graduates. These students and their classmates who graduate in the spring will have a choice when it comes time to contribute to their senior class gift; they can choose to donate to the Senior Class Gift Endowed Scholarship created last year by the Class of ’08, or give towards the addition of an Eternal Flame that will be set atop the Immortal Ten Memorial.

Both options seem fitting. The scholarship allows today’s graduates to assist those who will come after them — in fact, the scholarship already has benefited at least one student — while contributing to the completion of the Immortal Ten Memorial carries on a tradition of senior class gifts that funded the statue.
