A quick nap

Imagine a soap box derby, except instead of a soap box, you have a bed. And instead of coasting downhill, your friends are pushing that bed as fast as they can while you hang on for dear life. That’s pretty much what you get at the annual ATO Bed Races, held Friday on Fountain Mall.

Each team of five included four people pushing the bed (on wheels) and one rider; after pushing the bed a certain distance, the rider jumps off and tackles an inflatable obstacle course.

Over 60 teams competed Friday in men’s and women’s divisions in the third annual race, sponsored by Alpha Tau Omega and the Place2BU. As you can see in this slideshow, costumes were encouraged, with the best winning prizes.
